A Sleep Retreat: It All Starts with the Bed
Gwen Driscoll Designs has put together a beautiful Master Suite plan for another one of our fabulous clients.  The request was a bedroom that was clean and spare but with some personality and a few touches to make it really special.
Enjoy perusing our choices and thought process.  It's going to be beautiful installed and I'll be sure to share images with you when we have it complete.I was inspired by this beautiful bed featured in Elle Decor recently.  We are having one custom built similiar to it for the main feature in this bedroom.(John Hutton Abode Chalet)The bed is being upholstered in this John Hutton wool that is "to die for" phenomenal.  With nailhead detail it will be handsome but soft with feminine lines because of the curve of the headboard...my favorite thing: a mix of feminine and masculine, especially in a bedroom. We plan to paint the walls Pratt & Lambert Moth Gray with trim being Benjamin Moore Moonlight White. We are doing a rug from a local carpet store, not a statement just something to ground the room visually.(Rogers & Goffigon Cervo Moth)
The bed is Queen size so there will be two European Shams out of Rogers & Goffigon Cervo Linen Velvet.  This R & G fabric is truly one of my all time favorites.  It comes in beautiful colors and is just lovely wherever I place it.(Neisha Crosland Zebra Silver Blue)
Oh, it's all about Neisha Crosland again, imagine that.  We are doing a center of the bed bolster out of this beautiful ink blue and pewter zebra fabric.  Ooh La La!(C & C Milano 150939)
And, C & C Milano never disappoints, EVER!  I love every single fabric I touch that is C & C Milano.  The hand of the fabric is perfection and the quality, well, there aren't enough words.  Of course, what is better than Italian linen?
We are doing a Queen size throw for the foot of the bed out of this C & C beauty. The bed will be dressed in a plain goods Leontine Linen coverlet with two plain goods white sheeting shams along with our other beautiful pillows.(Leontine Linens White Percale Sheeting)I use Leontine Linens for every project I can primarily for its simplicity.  I like beds to have very simple coverlets that are flat, crisp and clean.  A beautiful monogram or adornment can be added but in this case not necessary.(Leontine Linens White Birdseye Pique)(John Robshaw Shali Ivory)
My client already has shutters on the bottom half of her windows.  We are adding this beautiful John Robshaw shear to soften the window scene.  Isn't it going to be beautiful?A pair of Arteriors lamps and Bungalow 5 bedside tables will be simple perfection to flank the beautiful upholstered bed.
My client already has a spectacular art collection so I'm sure we will select an awesome piece for this room.  That will be the crowning glory and final special touch.  I'll be sure to share it with you.
We'll talk soon.
