Happy 2010! As many of you know from my lack of posts I've been on a much needed vacation for the last week. We've had a great time, traveling to see family and friends, and now it's back to life, newly inspired with a new year. I find myself by year end, "Busy as a bird dog", as my mother would say, and with the strike of a clock at midnight, things seem to calm. I've spent several days getting organized for our new year and while going through some old things I came across a journal I gave my grandmother while I was in college, dated March 1, 1990 (OK, I'm old). It's back in my possession because after her passing, my mother found it and thought I might like to have it. It has been under my nose for months, just not any time to review it and see what I was thinking way back when.This journal is a collection of poems, quotes, song lyrics, etc. I found to be important and I wanted to share them with her for all she had done for me. On this very COLD day, it brightened my spirit and heart to come across them so I thought I would share a few with you.

I was chided over the holiday by some of my nearest and dearest that I was "a philosopher". Truth be told, I do need inspiration from time to time on a deeper level. If you aren't in need of that today, skip this post and save it for a day you do. Happy New Year to you all.
